FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS YOUR TURNAROUND TIME?
Each keepsake quilt is made to order, and I make them in the order that your orders arrive. Because of this, turnaround times can vary — during quieter periods it may be as little as 2 weeks, but at busier times it can take up to 8 weeks.

If you’re ordering with a special date in mind, it’s always best to plan ahead. For example, the cut-off for guaranteed Christmas delivery is usually in September, so I can make sure your quilt arrives in time to be treasured over the holidays.

Each order is given a unique number when it arrives, and I’ll let you know your number and the number I am currently working on at that time. I also post regular updates on my social media stories to show which numbers I’m working on, so you can see roughly where your quilt is in the queue.

If you have a specific deadline or event in mind, please get in touch — I’m happy to advise on the best timing for your quilt.
HOW MANY ITEMS DO YOU NEED?
The number of items you include is really flexible — one of the things that makes a keepsake quilt so personal. I don’t set hard rules, because every quilt is different and every story is unique.

As a rough guide, for baby clothes you might need anywhere from a handful for a small cushion up to 50–70 items for a large quilt. Adult clothes usually require far fewer pieces, as the items are larger. Some people prefer to avoid repeating fabrics, so they include more pieces, while others don’t have quite enough and choose to add a border or coordinating fabric — both options work beautifully.

Ultimately, how many items you use is a personal choice. If you’re unsure whether you have too many or too few, or want advice on how to make the most of the clothes you have, please get in touch. I’m always happy to talk through the best approach for your keepsake.
WHAT CAN I INCLUDE?
Keepsake quilts are very flexible, and you can include almost any fabric item that holds meaning for you. I don’t limit what you can send — the aim is to create something that reflects your memories.

Commonly included items range from everyday baby and children’s clothes like babygrows, sleepsuits, bodysuits, dresses, T-shirts and dungarees, through to jumpers, coats, swimwear, hats and even cloth nappies. Many people also include sentimental pieces such as ‘my first’ outfits, little brother or sister items, or pieces of a parent’s clothing — for example a hospital nightie or a dad’s shirt for that first cuddle.

The quilt wadding helps absorb some bulk, which means thicker items such as denim, jumpers and dressing-up costumes can usually be included without a problem. Costumes are very welcome, but please bear in mind that they aren’t always fire-retardant.

If your items include tutus, embellishments or very textured areas, comfort can vary slightly from patch to patch. If there are sections you’d prefer me to use — or avoid — just let me know when you place your order.
If you’re unsure about a particular item, or want to talk through what will work best, please get in touch before sending your clothes. I’m always happy to help.
LOOKING AFTER YOUR KEEPSAKE
Your quilt is designed to be treasured and practical, so it can be washed safely on a gentle 30°C setting. Because each quilt is made from a variety of clothes, I recommend following the care instructions for the most delicate item included.

Line drying is best to keep your quilt looking its finest. After washing, you may notice a small amount of shrinkage, which is completely normal and expected with any quilt.

You can iron on a low setting on the reverse of your quilt.

If you’d like any extra tips for keeping your quilt soft and comfortable, or want advice for particular fabrics or embellishments, just get in touch — I’m always happy to help.
WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?
Each keepsake quilt is made just for you, so I’m unable to accept returns once production has started.

If you change your mind before I’ve begun making your quilt, you have 14 days from the date of purchase to cancel your order and receive a full refund. Once work has started on your quilt, or after your clothes have been sent, cancellations are no longer possible.

If your order is cancelled after sending your clothes but before work has started, you would be responsible for the return postage.

I know ordering a keepsake can feel like a big decision, and I want you to feel confident every step of the way. If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch — I’m always happy to talk things through.
CAN I ADD EXTRA ITEMS AFTER PLACING MY ORDER?
Yes — many customers send bonus packages after placing an order. As long as I haven’t started sewing your quilt, I can include extra items. Before I begin, I’ll always contact you to confirm, so we can make sure everything is included exactly as you want.
CAN I CHOOSE THE LAYOUT OR DESIGN OF MY QUILT?
Absolutely. Once I start your keepsake, I’ll create a layout and share it with you before I begin sewing. I’m happy to move pieces around so we can work out the perfect arrangement together — your quilt should reflect the memories that matter most.

If you have a design idea that isn’t on my website, I’d be delighted to talk it through with you and see if we can bring it to life. Depending on the complexity, there may be an additional cost, which we’ll discuss before we start.
CAN I INCLUDE ITEMS FOR MORE THAN ONE CHILD?
Yes — quilts can include items for multiple children. I can also add personalised patches to show who each item belongs to, so the quilt still feels thoughtful and organised. Many customers love combining siblings’ items into one keepsake, and it works beautifully.
CAN ONE ITEM BE USED IN MULTIPLE KEEPSAKES?
Yes — I do this quite often! If you’d like to include a special item in more than one quilt, just let me know when sending your clothes, and I’ll make sure it’s used carefully in each keepsake.
HOW DO I SEND MY CLOTHES SAFELY?
You don’t need anything fancy — just use a courier you’re comfortable with and make sure it’s tracked. Package everything securely in whatever you have available. I try to reuse packaging wherever possible, so if you send items in a bag-for-life or a vacuum-sealed bag, I’ll send them back in that and in my own packaging (which varies depending on quilt size).

Both my husband and I work from home, so we rarely miss a delivery, but tracked postage just makes everything easier and gives peace of mind.
