The Alexandra Quilt – Growing Years Quilt is designed for families who have kept clothes from more than one stage of childhood.

While my Original Keepsake Quilt uses uniform patch sizes, this style combines two complementary patch sizes to allow me to work with both very small garments and larger pieces. This means newborn clothes, babywear, and toddler items can all be included in one cohesive quilt, without losing special details or having to overly cut down treasured pieces.

This layout came about when creating a quilt from a bundle of clothes that spanned several years. Using a mix of smaller and larger patches made it possible to honour each stage properly, creating a keepsake that truly reflects a child’s early years of growth.

The Growing Years Quilt is ideal if:

You have clothes from newborn through to toddler years
You’ve been holding onto garments because they felt too small or too special to part with
You want a quilt that captures a moment in time when you had a newborn and an older child — keeping both children’s clothes together in a quilt helps cement those memories for years to come
You’d like to create a sibling quilt, or a quilt that represents a child’s early years alongside a younger sibling

Each quilt is carefully planned and made by me, ensuring the mix of patch sizes feels balanced and the finished quilt is practical, durable, and full of meaning.

As with all my keepsake quilts, every Alexandra Quilt is completely unique and made using the clothes you provide.

Number of squares – 30 small + 8 large = 38 (approx.)

Size – Large – 115cm x 170cm (45" x 66")
Number of items needed – 50 to 70
Number of squares – 59 small + 15 large = 74 (approx.)

Size – Extra Large – 125cm x 195cm (49" x 76")
Number of items needed – 50 to 100
Number of squares – 75 small + 19 large = 94 (approx.)

Size – Double (XXL) – 195cm x 210cm (76" x 82")
Number of items needed – 50 to 120
Number of squares – 125 small + 32 large = 157 (approx.)

Size – King (XXXL) – 200cm x 230cm (78" x 90")
Number of items needed – 80 to 150
Number of squares – 141 small + 36 large = 177 (approx.)

All quilts come with a 100% cotton backing. A plain textured cotton is included as standard. Printed quilting cottons are available as an optional upgrade.

Place your order. You’ll receive an order confirmation email.

Complete the order form via the link in your email and include your address for sending your items.

Send your clothes. Gather your treasured items and post them to me using a tracked service, or arrange collection if you’re local to Grantham, Lincolnshire.

Relax while I create your quilt. I’ll message you when I receive your items and keep you updated throughout the process.
You can send any of your cherished clothing items, including:

Onesies, baby grows, bodysuits

Hats, socks, bibs, sleeping bags

T-shirts, jumpers, dresses, dungarees

Cardigans, blankets

Some adult clothing items such as t-shirts, PJs, maternity, or hospital clothes

If you’re unsure what to include, just let me know — I can advise on quantity and design options.
Each quilt is a three-layer keepsake, made using:

Your patchwork items

High-quality wadding (70% recycled cotton / 30% recycled polyester)

100% cotton backing

All three layers are quilted together in the ditch of the items so the stitching is minimal on the front. The edges are finished with a 100% cotton binding in a complimentary colour.

I use my experience to ensure your items are showcased beautifully, preserving special details and motifs wherever possible.
You can personalise your quilt in a way that’s meaningful to you:

A full name in the centre of the quilt

A smaller patch with a name and date of birth

Or something entirely custom — just get in touch if you have a special idea

Tracked delivery only — every keepsake is sent with a tracked service to ensure it reaches you safely.

Turnaround — quilts are usually completed within 2–8 weeks of receiving your items. Times can vary, so please contact me if you need your quilt by a specific date.

Local collection — available at checkout if you are in Grantham, Lincolnshire.
I use my experience to design your quilt layout. You can suggest specific ideas, but final creative decisions remain with me to ensure a beautiful finished result.

If you send more items than needed, I’ll do my best to include them all. You can prioritise any items in your order notes.

Any leftover scraps will be disposed of three weeks after delivery unless you request their return (additional postage may apply).

Any unused items will be returned with your keepsake.

Due to the personalised nature of keepsakes, refunds are not offered once work has started. Orders can be cancelled within 14 days if production hasn’t begun.
