I created the Arlie keepsake quilt option especially for toddlers, but it is not limited to toddlers. The patches are larger than my standard quilts at 8" (7.5" when they are sewn in), therefore the clothes going into it need to be big enough to make an 8" patch. That is usually from around 18 months plus but can include older children and adult clothes too.
I have decided to make this a DIY size meaning you pick the number of patches so it is perfect for the space it will go into. I will need at least half the number of items for the number of patches so I can use front and back of each item. For example, a 4 x 6 quilt is 24 patches and will need between 12 and 24 items.

What you can include?
Anything that is at least 8" x 8".
This includes t-shirts, tops, dresses and larger babygrows and onesies.
The Process and Materials
If you order this option I will turn your items into a quilt. Quilts are made by sewing a lightweight wadding (70% recycled cotton / 30% recylced polyester) in-between your patchwork with a cotton backing. Bamboo is known for its antibacterial qualities making it the perfect choice for your keepsake quilt. I have a choice of blue, pink and grey cotton fabric in stock to back your quilt with. If you would prefer something a little different I have a wide range of fabric available which you can upgrade too. Just get in touch with me to discuss what you are looking for.
The three layers are quilted together. I have two options for this - framed with quilting lines half an inch from each seam or diaginal.
The thin border around the edge is called the binding and is done in a complimentary colour 100% cotton to hide the raw edges of the quilt.
I will message you when I receive your items and throughout the process. I will send at least one picture of my progress to confirm you are happy with the layout and allow you to make any changes before I do any sewing. I always send a picture of the finished quilt and wait for you to confirm that everything appears correct before I put it in the post to you.
Personalise and add-ons
I have two options for personalising your quilt. Add them to your cart separately:
- Applique name using your clothes
- Hand printed patch
I can also turn your clothes into a cushion. If you send the larger recommended number of items, I can usually use what’s left with no additional items needed. The cushions make great gifts for grandparents ready for the next birthday or Christmas.
Delivery and Shipping
Please only place your order if you are in the postion to post your items within two weeks. It really helps me offer accurate turnaround times. If this is a gift a Gift Voucher might be a better idea.
I will pick up and drop off your order if you live in the Grantham, Lincolnshire for no additional cost, please message me before you place your order to avoid being charged postage. However, if you are a bit further afield you will need to send your items to me. Please leave your email address when you check out and I will send you all the information you need along with my address.
I will endeavour to complete your blanket as soon as possible and aim for a 4 week turn around once I receive your items however, please allow up to 6-8 weeks during and leading up to busier periods like Christmas. If your keepsake blanket is needed for a particular occasion, let me know and I will do my best to get it completed in time.
As your quilt is irreplaceable I will return it to you Royal Mail Special Delivery if it is under 2kg when finished or tracked and signed for courier if it is over 2kg. I would suggest you also use a tracked and signed for service. Make sure you include your name and address when you send your parcel, so I know who they belong to when they arrive.

You can now pick between having your patchwork made with equal size squares or in a more mosaic style. When picking the equal sized option all items will be hand cut into equal squares to create your perfect patchwork. I may occasionally cut a design slightly longer or wider. I will use my creative skills to ensure all the items are used in the best way possible, and include any special features or fine details on the items you provide. Please bear in mind that if you send larger motifs they may have to be cropped down so let me know which part you would prefer to keep.
If you prefer the squares different sizes or have a lot of larger items you may prefer to pick the mosaic option. If you do have any ideas on how you would like your quilt designing, please let me know.
I will endeavour to incorporate all of your provided clothing, however if you have included more than the suggested number of items I will do my best to include them all. Please just let me know if you wish any to be used as a priority. If on the other hand you do not have enough items for the size you would like, I will make it as large as possible. It may still be possible if the items you have included are from an older child or adults.
Should you wish any scrap clothing items to be returned, please state this in your notes on your order. I will return any unused items along with your quilt. I will dispose of any leftovers after 3 weeks of you receiving your quilt unless you request otherwise.
It goes without saying - but please only send clean clothes, although stains are expected, and I’ll do my best to avoid them. Your quilt can be washed on a gentle 30-degree wash or as per your most delicate baby item. It may shrink down a little once washed but this adds to the charm.
Disclaimer
It is recommended that quilts and cushions should not be used in the cot for babies under 1-year-old. The care label sewn inside states that it is not suitable for under 12 months for this reason. If the items you provide contain buttons, beads or fastenings these may be used in your quilt but may cause a choking hazard for young children. If you would like these removed, please let me know.

Cancellation Policy
Due to the personalised nature of the keepsakes, I am unable to accept returns or offer refunds.
If you wish to cancel your order, you can do so within 14 days of your order, providing work on your keepsake has not already started. If you have already posted your items, you will be responsible for the return delivery cost.
Care Instructions
Your keepsake is safe to be washed at a gentle 30 degrees or as per your most delicate item in the quilt. Do not tumble dry.
There will be some shrinkage once washed but that adds to the charm of the quilt.
