Size: 45cm x 45cm
Finish: Fully sewn cushion (not just a cover)
Number of items needed: 5 to 16
Patchwork design: Typically 16 squares (5" each), adapted as needed to make the most of your clothes
For a 45cm x 45cm cushion, I recommend sending at least 8 items. However, if you’ve already ordered a quilt or blanket and provided a larger selection of clothing, there’s no need to send extras.
I can also make multiple cushions from the same clothes—perfect for sharing memories with family and friends.

The Process and Materials
The cushion is made by sewing a high quality lightweight bamboo wadding to the back of your baby clothes patchwork. A 100% cotton backing is used to make an envelope style. Bamboo is known for its anti-bacterial properties making it the perfect choice to keep your memories safe forever.
The backings available are pink, blue or grey. If you would prefer something a little different I have a wide range of fabric available which you can upgrade too. Just get in touch with me to discuss what you are looking for. You will need to select "other" when you place your order.
I also have a half keepsake and double sided option for the backing. The double sided will have a zip opening along one of the side seams. The half and half will still be an envelope back but with half patchwork and half coordinating cotton.
I will send at least one picture of my progress to confirm you are happy with the layout and allow you to make any changes before I do any sewing. I always send a picture of the finished cushion and wait for you to confirm that everything appears correct before I put it in the post to you.
You can buy the cushion keepsake as just a cover, if like me you lots of cushion fillers at home already. Alternatively, I can include it for you for an additional cost.Backing and Personalisation
There are several options for the back of your cushion:

Double-Sided Design – I can use more of your clothes to make the cushion reversible. If any of your items have a zip, I’ll use it as the main fastening to open and close the cushion.

Standard Backing – Choose from turquoise, grey, or pink poka dot.

Plain - Organic Cotton Backing – I have over two dozen shades of plain-dyed organic cotton, and we can pick the perfect match once your cushion is sewn.

Other - Fabric from The Fabric Squirrel – With hundreds of fabrics in my other shop, we can find something unique.

Embroidered Name – I can add a name to the back of your cushion. This works best on a plain backing but can also be stitched onto a plain patch on any of the other fabric choices (additional costs may incur).

Decide Later – If you’d like to see how your cushion looks first, I can show you the backing options once it’s stitched together. Additional costs may apply for personalised or alternative fabric choices.

Delivery and Shipping
I will pick up and drop off your order if you live in the Grantham, Lincolnshire for no additional cost (please message me for a free delivery code). However, if you are a bit further afield you will need to send your items to me. Please include your email address with your order in the notes and I will send you a form to complete along with my address for you to send the items to.
As your cushion is irreplaceable I will return it to you Royal Mail Special Delivery if it is under 2kg when finished or tracked and signed for courier if it is over 2kg. I would suggest you also use a tracked and signed for service. Make sure you include your name and address when you send your parcel, so I know who they belong to when they arrive.
I will endeavour to complete your quilt as soon as possible and aim for a 4 week turn around once I receive your items however, please allow up to 6-8 weeks during busy periods like Christmas. If your cushion is needed by a particular time, let me know and I will do my best to get it completed in time.Additional Information

All items will be hand cut into equal squares to create your perfect patchwork. I will use my creative skills to ensure all the items are used in the best way possible and include any special features or fine details on the items you provide. If you do have any ideas on how you would like your cushion designing, please let me know.
I will endeavour to incorporate all of your provided clothing, however if you have included more than the suggested number of items I will do my best to include them all. Please just let me know if you wish any to be used as a priority. If on the other hand you do not have enough items for the size you would like, I will make it as large as possible. It may still be possible if the items you have included are from an older child or adults.
Should you wish any scrap clothing items to be returned, please state this in your notes on your order. I will return any unused items along with your cushion. I will dispose of any leftovers after 3 weeks of you receiving your quilt unless you request otherwise.
It goes without saying - but please only send clean clothes, although stains are expected, and I’ll do my best to avoid them. Your quilt can be washed on a gentle 30-degree wash or as per your most delicate baby item. It may shrink down a little once washed but this adds to the charm.Disclaimer
It is recommended that quilts and cushions should not be used in the cot for babies under 1-year-old. The care label sewn inside states that it is not suitable for under 12 months for this reason. If the items you provide contain buttons, beads or fastenings these may be used in your quilt but may cause a choking hazard for young children. If you would like these removed, please let me know.

Due to the personalised nature of the keepsakes, I am unable to accept returns or offer refunds.
If you wish to cancel your order, you can do so within 14 days of your order, providing work on your keepsake has not already started. If you have already posted your items, you will be responsible for the return delivery cost.
Care Instructions
Your keepsake is safe to be washed at a gentle 30 degrees or as per your most delicate item in the quilt. Do not tumble dry.
There will be some shrinkage once washed but that adds to the charm of the quilt.
