It can be hard to sort through grown out baby clothes and decide to give them away or keep them just in case. We can't keep them all forever and it is such a shame to pack them away in the loft. Turning your favourite clothes into a blanket is the perfect solution. This is my original style made up of equal sized 6” squares (5.5” when sewn in).
The blanket is made up of two layers – your patchwork and a fleece backing. I have a choice of teddy fleece and dimple minky fleece. I am happy to send pictures of the options once the top is constructed.
Please bear in mind that the size is a guide. Your blanket could be up to 5-10cm shorter or longer in either direction. I am limited to these two sizes due to the width of the backing fabric. For larger keepsakes please see my quilt options.

What can you include?
Blankets are best kept to t-shirt style fabric and cottons. If you have a lot of denim and jumpers, a quilt may be more appropriate.
- Onesies
- Babygrows
- Bodysuits
- Sleeping bags/grow bags
- Bibs
- T-shirts
- Dresses
- How about some of your own? - The pjs you wore in the hospital, the shirt that Dad got his first cuddle in for example
Things to consider when ordering a blanket
- Bulkier items can be used but may be a little bumpy on seams. Upgrading to a quilt will be more appropriate.
The Process and Materials
Blankets made up of your baby clothes patchwork and are lined with a complimentary fleece to create a lighter way to keep your treasured clothes. Or if like me you were given a tonne of fleece blankets when your little one was born, why not send one of those and I will back it with that. I still quilt the two layers together to keep your blanket strong and lasting longer.
Quilting is done in the ditch of the fabric so minimum stitching can be seen from the front. The thin border around the edge is called the binding and is done in a complimentary colour 100% cotton to hide the raw edges of the quilt.
Personalise and add-ons
I have two options for personalising your quilt. Add them to your cart separately:
- Applique name using your clothes
- Hand printed patch
I can also turn your clothes into a cushion. If you send the larger recommended number of items, I can usually use what’s left with no additional items needed. The cushions make great gifts for grandparents ready for the next birthday or Christmas.

Additional Information
By completing this order you confirm that you have read and agreed to the additional information and disclaimer.
Please let me know if you would not like your quilt shared on my social media accounts.
All items will be hand cut into equal squares to create your perfect patchwork. I will use my creative skills to ensure all the items are used in the best way possible, and include any special features or fine details on the items you provide. Occasionally that will mean some patches are not all the same size. If you do have any ideas on how you would like your quilt designing, please let me know.
I will endeavour to incorporate all of your provided clothing, however if you have included more than the suggested number of items I will do my best to include them all. Please just let me know if you wish any to be used as a priority. If on the other hand you do not have enough items for the size you would like, I will make it as large as possible. It may still be possible if the items you have included are from an older child or adults.
Should you wish any scrap clothing items to be returned, please state this in your notes on your order. I will return any unused items along with your quilt. I will dispose of any leftovers after 3 weeks of you receiving your quilt unless you request otherwise.
It goes without saying - but please only send clean clothes, although stains are expected, and I’ll do my best to avoid them. Your quilt can be washed on a gentle 30-degree wash or as per your most delicate baby item. It may shrink down a little once washed but this adds to the charm.
Disclaimer
It is recommended that quilts and cushions should not be used in the cot for babies under 1-year-old. The care label sewn inside states that it is not suitable for under 12 months for this reason. If the items you provide contain buttons, beads or fastenings these may be used in your quilt but may cause a choking hazard for young children. If you would like these removed, please let me know.
Thank you for your interest and trusting me with your treasured items, I will treat them like they are my own little man’s.
Care Instructions
Your keepsake is safe to be washed at a gentle 30 degrees or as per your most delicate item in the quilt. Do not tumble dry.
There will be some shrinkage once washed but that adds to the charm of the quilt.
